Double EMMY award winning

This episode gave an impactful insight into the plight of forest elephants in the Congo basin. Using a specialist camera team, local elephant trackers and the impressive eco-guards, the crew set up a filming HQ high in the rainforest canopy to stake out Dzanga Bai.

Four years in the making and helmed by a female-led production team from around the world – the seven-part series leverages cutting-edge technology to reveal surprising insights into how females in the natural world rise to power, often relying on cooperation and wisdom over brute strength to get ahead.

A Real Bug’s Life

After 25 years, the Pixar hit ‘A Bugs Life’ has been given a new twist, coming out on Disney+/ National Geographic in 2024. Ferne was a part of the ‘Backyard’ team, bringing small creatures to the big screen.

Blue Planet Live

Both Ferne and Mark had the exciting opportunity to work together on one of the most ambitious live productions the BBC has ever undertaken. With teams spread across the world in Mexico, the Bahamas, the Pacific ocean and Australia, it was an update on the successful Blue Planet brand.

Animal Babies: First year on Earth

Filming 6 animals over their first year of life, this hit BBC series aired in 2018. From the first steps of a baby mountain gorilla in Uganda to Toque Macaques ruling over ancient temples in Sri Lanka. We tell the story of these babies through the eyes of our witness camera ops.
