Blue Hare Films

Filmmakers on Ireland’s wild coastline

Do you have a story to tell? Talk to us…

Who We Are

Blue Hare Films was founded by us- Ferne Corrigan and Mark McClean in 2024. After living and working in Bristol for over 14 years, we upped sticks and moved home to the west coast of Ireland bringing a few bags, our filmmaking experience and our creativity. We love our work and formed the company in order to focus on making our own projects, working with like minded people.

What We Do

We bring stories to life on any and all screens- from TVs to mobile phones, nothing is too big or too small.

Why We Do It

We make films that pack a punch but also have heart behind them. With our backgrounds in natural history and conservation, sustainability and the environment are at our core and we want to tell stories that include them. Even if it is touched upon lightly, having the natural world in content is what we strive for- anything to highlight how amazing nature is.

Working with you, we cover every element of media production from a mind germ to a fully finished screen ready story.

We have some personal projects on the go as well as waiting for some funding for an idea for broadcast TV here in Ireland.

Exploring West Cork from the air- song is ‘Bean Phaidin’ by Lasarfhiona.

Short film we made for Meg’s charity Crux Climbing in Bristol which aims to bring young people from disadvantaged backgrounds climbing, helping them gain new skills and confidence.

2024 Showreel with footage shot from over the years- the song is ‘Excess’ by Tricky.

The Beara Peninsula is full of incredibly interesting people whose stories we are striving to tell alongside the breath taking scenery and wildlife.

Promotional video for Valesco gym which strives to make itself a safe place for anyone and everyone to exercise.

Rocky coastline with ocean waves crashing against the shore, three people and a dog on the clifftop, overcast sky in the background.
Snow-covered mountain peak at sunrise with a lake and distant hills in the background.
A family of three, wearing helmets, taking a selfie outdoors near a scenic lake with mountains in the background.

The company is still in its infancy so projects have been fairly local so far but we are always brainstorming, looking for fresh stories and ways to communicate messages. Sometimes the best idea can come from something small and random and that is what we really enjoy about our field of work.

If you would like to speak with us or find out more, pop over an email and we can get scheming.

Or better yet, if you happen to be out West, come say hi. We know great coffee spots for a chat and love to hear people’s mind germs in person.
